Dallas, TX - Amy Simidian (#2 seed) from Naples, Florida won the 35th annual Maureen Connolly Brinker Girls? 14 National Championships at T-Bar-M Racquet Club in Dallas, Texas. She defeated Lilly Kimbell (#1 seed) from Braunfels, Texas 6-1, 6-3. The event was held fr?om Friday, March 24 through Sunday, March 26.

Brianda Navarro (San Antonio, TX) defeated Casey Johnson (Plano,TX) for Third Place and Fourth Place 6-3,6-1. Whitney Kay (Alpharetta, GA) defeated Katie Goepel (Chatham, NJ) for Fifth and Sixth Place 6-4, 6-4. In the Consolation Final, Abby Stainback (Dallas, TX) defeated Jasmine Minor (Mundelein, IL) 6-1,6-2. The Sportsmanship Award was presented to Taylor Vick from Bellaire, TX.

Invitations were sent to the top players who are 14 & under from each section of the USTA. This singles-only event is sanctioned by the USTA and is on the National Junior Tennis Schedule.

Carol Weyman, Executive Vice-President of the Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation, presented the trophies.

This is one of the many events the MCB Tennis Foundation organizes to promote junior tennis development. Maureen Connolly was the first woman to win the Grand Slam at 18 years of age in 1953. She is still the youngest and only American woman to win the Grand Slam.
