What junior tournaments should be

Dear Carol:

The Little Mo tournament has become the highlight of our year and somewhat of a family tradition over the past few years. The 9 & under “Little Mo” Eastern Sectional in Mt. Kisco, NY was the first tournament that my older son, Nicholas Kiger, ever played. Last year, he won the 11 & under National “Little Mo” title in Austin! His little brother, Mac, played in the 8 & under last year (2005) and came in 4th at the “Little Mo” North Regional in Homewood.

This year, Mac won the consolation draw at the North Regional in Homewood. I am writing to let you know that should a spot become open for Mac in the National 8 & under division we would certainly make it a priority to be there! Regardless of whether Mac plays in Texas this year or not, he will certainly be playing in the Sectionals again come May 2007.

The Little Mo tournaments are an example of what junior tennis should be. The emphasis on sportsmanship, respect and the dignity of the game of tennis is what sets your tournaments apart from the rest. Our family very much appreciates what your organization is doing to raise the bar of junior tennis. Best of luck with the rest of the 2006 Little Mo schedule.
Regards,
Brooke Johnson
