Babolat Becomes Official Sponsor of “Little Mo” International Open

Boulder, Colorado – Babolat, leading manufacturer of tennis racquets, announces its sponsorship of the “Little Mo’” International Open tennis tournament. Babolat recently signed a XX-year contract to support the tournament as a presenting sponsor.

The “Little Mo” International is open to any player from around the world who is 8-11 years old. It is the premier challenge for juniors to compete against players from other countries. The “Little Mo” tournament furthers junior tennis development with the goal of players developing new friendships with others from around the world, providing outstanding competition, learning good sportsmanship and most of all having fun.

“’Little Mo’ is a great organization to work with,” says Susan DiBiase, marketing director of Babolat USA. “Being a part of a tournament that values the junior players and the game of tennis as much as we do is very exciting for us.” The tournament has special meaning for Babolat’s top US Men’s player, Andy Roddick—he won “Little Mo” in 1992 at the age of 10. “We hope to continue to grow the sport of tennis in a way that allows kids to compete against their peers in a fun and exciting environment, which is the essence of ‘Little Mo’” adds DiBiase.

LITTLE MO SPOKESPERSON? “The shared values between Babolat and the ‘Little Mo’ organization make this the perfect partnership. We think 2010 will be the best year yet!”

Babolat has a full range of products for juniors of all levels including junior versions of the Pure Drive Roddick, Andy Roddick’s racquet of choice, and the Aeropro Drive, Rafael Nadal’s weapon. These models feature many of the same exclusive Babolat technologies found in the pro’s racquets to help junior players reach their fullest potential. Babolat also offers the Propulse II, Andy Roddick’s shoe, in junior sizes.

The 2010 “Little Mo” tournament will take place October 16-19 at the Austin Tennis Academy in Austin, Texas. Please visit: www.mcbtennis.org/tournament.

ABOUT “LITTLE MO”

The “Little Mo” tournament is a program of the Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation that furthers junior tennis development for boys and girls ages 8-11. The “Little Mo” tournament began in Texas over thirty years ago and due to its popularity, the event expanded to a national level in 1998 with the formation of the “Road to the ‘Little Mo’ Nationals”—a nationwide, year-long circuit of fun, competitive tournaments culminating in a United States national champion being crowned in each age division. Over 1,500 players participate in the “Road to the ‘Little Mo’ Nationals.” In March 2006—it’s 30th anniversary—the MCB Tennis Foundation announced that “Little Mo” was expanding to an international level.
